How Do You Know If Your Pilates Instructor Is Certified?

This year I will have been teaching Pilates 25 Years! Whilst I have always taken pride in learning and training, aiming to be the best I can be. Not everyone, I’m sure it’s the same in any profession, follows the same ethics. This is how you can check your Instructor is certified.

Check their bio – On their website or social media page they should list the organisation(s) they have trained with. You should be able to go to these providers and search for them. If they haven’t listed an organisation or don’t even mention where they have trained chances are they aren’t certified. Certified means they have taken an exam, this is both theory and practical and they have passed that exam. The majority of Pilates instructor training courses issue a certificate of completion for doing the course. This certificate does not mean they are certified it means they attended the course.

If your instructor isn’t certified chances are they aren’t insured to teach Pilates. If your instructor isn’t certified or insured chances are they won’t be following a code of ethics, these are the rules and regulations of a Pilates instructor.

Don’t waste your money on instructors who haven’t taken the exams to be certified.
